PRESIDENT TRUMKA RECEIVES WORLD PEACE PRIZE AWARD

President of the AFL-CIO, Richard L. Trumka, received the “World Peace Prize” at a ceremony at the headquarters of the AFL-CIO, in Washington, D.C. The award was given by the World Peace Prize Awarding Council, an international organization, on the recommendation of Father Sean McManus, President of the Irish National Caucus, and also the chief judge on the WPPAC. The award was bestowed on Mr. Trumka because of a career devoted towards “Justice, Peace and Humanitarian Causes, especially in the field of the Global Labor Movement.” Pictured (l-r) Father Sean McManus, President of the Irish National Caucus, Barbara Flaherty, chairperson of the awards event, and Richard L.
