“ No Stone Unturned,”

Posted By: October 17, 2017

Dear Friends of Irish justice in the Greater DC Area,

Please do not miss this film on the  Loughinisland Massacre, “ No Stone Unturned,” showing on Friday, October 20 at 8: 30  in Naval Heritage Center, 701 Pennsylvania Ave,  NW. Washington, DC 20004.

See the attached email to me from attorney Niall Murphy in Belfast with further details.
Niall has done extraordinary, groundbreaking work in exposing British Government collusion in this appalling massacre.
A few years ago, the  Irish National Caucus had the honor of hosting Niall and family members of the Loughinisland Massacre on Capitol Hill and introducing them to Members of Congress.
In June 2016,  the Northern Ireland  Police Ombudsman delivered a damning report exposing British collusion.
On June 10, 2016,  Niall emailed me to say: “The families are euphoric and vindicated … One of their thoughts was to turn to you today as they appreciate your support, thoughts, and prayers over the years and that time you hosted us in DC.”
The Loughinisland families have shown remarkable fortitude and graciousness in their struggle for justice. Irish-Americans can show their solidarity by coming to this film.
Sorry for the short notice.
God bless America and God save Ireland.
Fr. Sean Mc Manus
President
Irish National Caucus
Capitol Hill

Fr Sean

I hope that this finds you well.

The film about the Loughinisland massacre, will be showing at a film festival in Washington DC this weekend and I would encourage you to attend if at all possible.

The film doesn’t get its cinema release until 10th November, however it is a film that needs to be viewed at least twice to be fully appreciated.

It represents, in the absence of a justice system here, the best opportunity for the families to achieve truth recovery, and having seen the film, with the victims and survivors, it achieves that aim, nobly.

We are hoping to organise a Congressional viewing of the film on Capitol Hill in due course, at which stage we would hope to bring some of the family members out to lobby politicians, on the importance of achieving mechanisms to deal with the past.   Politically, the issue of ‘Dealing with the Past’ is stalled by virtue of the fact that the British Govt are insistent on a National Security veto.  On watching this film, you will understand why the CANNOT be permitted to have any such veto.

Alex Gibney’s ‘No Stone Unturned’ Is An Audacious, Jaw-Dropping Work Of Journalism.  It’s a line we’ve all heard before, and it’s almost always a lie. But this time it’s true. Alex Gibney’s documentary “No Stone Unturned” is actually The Movie They Didn’t Want You to See.

London Film Festival Reviews
“Long and detailed and frequently terrifying, Alex Gibney’s documentary about a 1994 massacre in a pub in Northern Ireland is investigative journalism at its rigorous best.”

I have also enclosed the report, with an excellent article from the Guardian as well as an exceptional academic article by Professor Mark McGovern from Edgehill University and also a presentation I gave with Pat Doherty at Westminster last September.

Hope all is well with you.
