BOBBY SANDS FILM VALIDATES THE IRISH NATIONAL CAUCUS

Posted By: August 23, 2016

Dear Irish Friend,

I have the honor of being in the critically acclaimed film documentary “Bobby Sands: 66 Days, [66daysthefilm.com]” now showing in Ireland, and soon to be showing in the United States. It is not yet on video/DVD.

It is a powerful, factual and moving explanation as to why Bobby Sands and his nine colleagues

sacrificed their lives on hunger strike for justice in 1981.

The film is also a testimony to the work of the Irish National Caucus since I am the only Irish-American organization leader to appear in the film. I was selected because since February 6, 1974,  the Irish National Caucus has led the charge to get the United States Congress to stand up for equality, justice and peace in Northern Ireland. In the film, I explain the American reaction to the 1981 Hunger Strike, and the powerful odds against us in our struggle to expose British Government injustice.

Thank God, in the end, we prevailed.

However, we still have a long way to go, and our work is more important than ever.

That is why I am turning to good Irish-Americans like you who love freedom, justice,  and fair play.

I am urgently asking you to contribute $50 to the Irish National Caucus. If you can give more, then please do. If the Good Lord has blessed you with being in a position to give a large gift, the Irish Peace Foundation is a 501(c) (3) and if fully tax-deductible.

All funds remain in the United States. The Irish National Caucus is nonviolent and has no foreign principal. (For more information, please visit IrishNationalCaucus.org)

Your generous donation will help us to continue our work, which this brilliant film recognizes and validates.

There is still much to be done. Your help is really needed.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

God bless America and God save Ireland.

Fr. Sean Mc Manus.
