Ireland is ONE country. ONE nation. ONE Island.

Hi, I’m Fr. Sean McManus, President of the Irish National Caucus in Washington,

  1. And, I am the Chief Judge of the World Peace Prize.

This is my fifth video on England’s partition of Ireland—and on its upcoming 100th

Anniversary.

So, let’s begin with common sense, the plain truth, and no-nonsense.

Ireland is ONE country. ONE nation. One Island.

Its borders cannot be disputed. It is an island in the North Atlantic. It is separated from Britain by the North Channel, the Irish Sea, and St George’s Channel. The ocean and seas are its borders.

Yet, on December 23, 1920, this historic and ancient country was partitioned by

the London Parliament—even though in December 1918, 73% of the Irish people

voted for national independence from England. I use the term England because we can hardly blame Wales or Scotland for England’s oppression of Ireland. England just dragged Wales and Scotland along in the dirty deeds of the British Empire. This is even more true now that Scotland seems to be heading for independence.

And, of course, England is now dragging Northern Ireland out of the European Union.

As we approach the 100th Anniversary of England’s awful and appalling crime against the country and people of Ireland, decent people of the world

must show their repudiation of England’s crime, which was also racist and anti-Catholic.

That is why I am asking you —and all people of goodwill who love justice, fairness, and human rights— to, please, sign the Irish National Caucus’ One Ireland internet petition

“Ireland, too, has the right to be One Nation under God,

indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

The Petition is posted on Change.org

 On Facebook— https://www.facebook.com/sean.manus.1

And on IrishNationalCaucus.org

The Petition has been signed by over 16,000 people.

England’s partition of Ireland was racist (meaning anti-Irish) and sectarian (meaning anti-Catholic). England set up—on a sectarian head-count— the gerrymandered, ridiculously artificial Six County State of Northern Ireland to be both anti-Irish and anti-Catholic. This was the only way England could maintain a foothold on the island of Ireland in the 1920s. And, of course, history shows England used the twin-evils of racism and sectarianism throughout its evil empire.

But now it is time for that old imperialistic folly to end.

The days of colonialism, supremacy, and domination are over. It’s time for democracy on the whole island of Ireland: free from England, free from sectarianism, free from division, and free from the awful crime of Partition.

Our “One Ireland” Petition symbolizes the true foundation for Ireland’s democracy: national independence, national self-determination, solidarity, equality, unity, human rights, justice, reconciliation, and peace. That the way to build up The Beloved Community— as taught by Martin Luther King, Jr. —in all of the 32 Counties of Ireland. …Tell the world you repudiate England’s Partition of Ireland.

Please proudly sign the Petition. Who could possibly be against it?

Thank you.

God save Ireland and God bless you.
