  1. SEAN Mc MANUS’ VIDEO: 45 YEARS ON CAPITOL HILL

Hi, I’m Fr. Sean McManus, President of the Capitol Hill-based Irish National Caucus in Washington, DC, and Chief Judge of the World Peace Prize.

And this is our FORTY FIRST social-media video on our One Ireland Petition and on England’s undemocratic Partition of Ireland, perpetrated on December 23, 1920, by the London Parliament, with the Royal Assent assent of the King of England.

December 10  is a special day for the Irish National Caucus and for all who love freedom, equality, justice, and peace. It is Human Rights Day. In the aftermath of World War II, on December 10,  1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In 1978, the Irish National Caucus took the historic decision to open the very first ever Irish office on Capitol Hill  to keep the U.S. Congress focused on Irish human rights. And we consciously and deliberately selected the date of December 10 on which to open this historic Office.

And this December 10, 2023, we have been on Capitol Hill for 45 years!!!

I thank God for the blessing of being able to do this work, because as the eminent  Protestant American Biblical scholar, Rev. Walter Brueggemann says, “In Biblical faith, the doing of justice is the primary expectation of God.”

And the Catholic Church teaches: “Action on behalf of justice [is] a constitutive dimension of the preaching of the Gospel…and [a constitutive dimension] of the Church’s mission for the redemption of the human race and its liberation from every oppressive situation.’ (Justice in the World. Synod of Catholic Bishops. 1971).

And I thank all those who made our work possible—especially Barbara Flaherty, Executive Vice President, Irish National Caucus, and the producer of these short videos.

And, surely, this is the perfect time for me to ask  you to sign, share, and promote our One Ireland Petition, which  perfectly expresses what all true Irish

hope for, and, indeed all who respect international Human Rights, namely: “Ireland, too,

has the right to be One Nation under God,

indivisible,

with liberty and justice for all.”

This splendid Petition has now over 31,418 signers—with over a million Petition-views (1 million,129, 777).

The Petition is hosted by Change.org, which informs us that when we get 35,000 signers, then our Petition will be one of the largest it has ever hosted.

The Petition is on Twitter and Facebook, and, of course,  on the Irish National Caucus website—IrishNationalCaucus.org.

Pease sign, share, and help to promote this Petition to show support for Human Rights and for our 45 Years on Capitol Hill.

And please help us to continue our good and vital work by donating to the Irish National Caucus.

Donations made on the Change.org page do NOT go to the Irish National Caucus.

To donate to the Irish National Caucus, you must please go to IrishNationalCaucus.org — the donate buttons are on the top right corner.

Please be as generous as you can.

Thank you.

God save Ireland.

END.
