TEXT OF MRS. SANDS’ LETTER

Dear Rev. Fr. McManus,

Thank you very much for your kind letter[All Souls’ Day, November 2, 1983].  I apologize for the delay in answering it.

I hope this finds you in the best of health to enable you to carry on the good work to help free our country.

I am sorry that you were unable to visit us, and I understand how things were then.  Next time you are in Belfast, please call at Twinbrook. We would be delighted to meet you.

Thank you for remembering my dear son Bobby at Mass, and in your prayers. Please say a prayer for my husband, John, who had a heart attack last September, two days before I was due to go for a holiday in Rhode Island, USA. We were lucky that it happened when I was at home.

I wish you all the best for the New Year, and I hope that some change may come about for the people in N. Ireland.

Kind regards from all the Sands Family.

Rosaleen Sands
