Washington, D.C., March 18, 1998 — President Clinton is all excited about having a photo of his family’s original residence in Roslea. “I have a photo of the house in Roslea,” he told Kinawley-born Fr. Sean McManus.
Fr. McManus spoke with President Clinton at the St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon on Capitol Hill, hosted by the Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich.
“The president was all excited about the photo,” said Fr. McManus. “I reminded him that Cassidy — his mother’s name — is a Fermanagh name, and that Fermanagh was claiming him as one of their own. He was very happy to be so claimed. He is clearly delighted with his Irish roots.”
