Washington D.C., December 12, 1995 --
The Irvine discrimination case against Ford before the Fair Employment
Commission gives added justification for the Ford Boycott in the United
States.
Since October 1986 Irish-Americans have been
Boycotting Ford in the U.S. It is estimated that Boycott has
convinced hundreds of thousands of Irish-Americans not to buy Ford
Automobiles. Indeed it is believed that the controversy deprived
Ford of a Presidential vist from Bill Clinton on his recent trip to
Belfast. "The Irvine case -- like the Marie Daly case earlier
-- dramatically reveals Ford's constant bad faith and discriminatory
record," said Father Sean McManus, President of the Washington
based Irish National Caucus which launched the Ford Boycott.
