Liz Shuler, AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer, Endorses President Trumka’s Vision and Support of World Peace Prize —its meaning and significance.

“Thank you, Barbara Flaherty for the kind introduction. I also want to thank Father Sean McManus for his leadership and vision, as well as Reverend Dr. Han Min Su and the entire World Peace Prize Awarding Council for everything they do to build a better world.
There is a crystal clear connection between the labor movement and peace and justice in our world. It’s a central part of our mission, our history and the work we are proud to be leading today.

Peace and justice come through unity and solidarity — it doesn’t just land in your lap…you have to fight for it …. we are striving for peace and justice for all working people…and working women are leading the way.”
