PRESIDENT FLOYD, TEAMSTERS LOCAL 237, AND VICE PRESIDENT AT LARGE, INVESTITURE
World Peace Prize laureate of Roving Ambassador for Peace
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2022—The first Teamster —out of its 1.3 million membership— to be the laureate of the World Peace Prize was installed on Tuesday, November 15.
The Presentation Ceremony for President Gregory Floyd, Teamsters Local 237, and Vice President At Large, took place in the famed headquarters of Local 237 in Manhattan, New York City, at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 15 before a good size group of Teamsters, friends, and supporters of President Floyd.
Barbara Flaherty, a Judge of the World Peace Prize and Chair of the Presentation Ceremony, Chaired the ceremony. Fr. Sean McManus —President of the Irish National Caucus and Chief Judge of the World Peace Prize— gave opening address explaining the history and meaning of the World Peace Prize.
President Floyd was then presented with a Plaque followed by the beautiful World Peace Prize medallion being placed over his head and shoulders. He then spoke in reverential tones about how he was honored and humbled by receiving the World Peace Prize.
